We are nestled approximately 1.5 miles from Highway 56 on part of a 400-acre farm. The Carriage House is the end of the trail and is quiet and peaceful. The butterfly garden attracts many visitors. It is filled with butterfly bushes, bee balm, lantana, phlox, lilies and of course, butterflies. Hostas, trilliums, and columbine make up the shade garden. Red Bud, dogwood and river birch are beautiful spring, summer, and fall. A short walk away is the duck pond. The ducks are very friendly and love to be fed. We have built a cabin on the pond, you can watch the fish jump or other wildlife from the porch, fish from the jetty or pitch horseshoes on the dam. A great place to stay while attending concerts at the Cavern and many other events nearby.Each cottage is completely furnished with everything you need for a great experience on the mountain. Linens, towels, coffee, complete kitchen, wifi, cable TV, a deck with rocking chairs, nice couch and a recliner. We take pride in the cleanliness and modern feel to the interiors, while providing a very pleasant outdoor area to enjoy. The property that is available to guests at this time is about 2 acres that are located on the left side of Sandy Ridge Road, extending from Hwy 56 to the field where cottages are located. The Lodge itself is still in the restoration process, so excuse the mess - we are glad to show you inside when we are around and hope to be open late summer/early fall of 2021. If we can help with any information, we are always happy to do so. We always enjoy meeting our guests and making new friends. We are new to short term rentals, so please let us know of anything we can improve upon and anything you would like us to add. Well behaved pets are welcome for a small fee but must be on a leash when off the property. They are also allowed at most local hiking spots. Bring whatever you have that floats or use our 10 ft John Boat. DEER, they love to graze in the back pasture. Absolutely no hunting, but feel free to shoot them with a camera if you are lucky enough to see them. RACOONS, so lock up that trash in the metal can near the gate and don't forget to use the strap to keep them from getting into it, they are very clever. BATS, yes, bats nest along the bluff and appear every night to eat Mosquitos, so we don't have many! but bring bug spray just in case. BEARS, just kidding, we have no bears! NEIGHBORS , we love them and ask that you not trespass on their property, not allow pets to roam the neighborhood, and keep music and loud noise to a minimum. Thank you for checking us out! About the kitchen: From kitchen aid mixers, to an oven that shows the exact temperature as it climbs to destination w a toaster convection feature, we carry pamper chef and la Creusent cookware for great cooking experience. We wanted to make all guests happy so we have a traditional coffee maker and a Keurig all in one! The dishwasher even opens up slightly when complete so the dishes dry appropriately. The kitchen island is to die for- you can buffet style the food and the dining room table sits 10 whiffle there are several additional chairs to sit 11 & 12 or you can sit 10 comfortably outside just 30 feet away at an oversized table under covered deck. 3 living rooms! 3x 70 inch TV’s, play rooms, living rooms w one upstairs w a super surround sound system made by Harmon Kardon. There is DVD players attached to all but the best part is the 20+ foot couch upstairs that you will think is heaven... many guests end up sleeping on this couch bc it’s amazing!!! But I haven’t even mentioned the game systems for the kids!! And the legit play cabin for the smaller kids! Wow! 3-4 game systems like rea arcade style but you don’t need quarters to play!!! For guests needing to get work complete, we have 3 small desks and did I mention one gig Internet, the fastest in the United States?! So make sure you hook up your devices to the Wi-Fi and experience the fastest Internet in the United States. Regarding outdoor living for all the family: Plenty of space, private garage & more. Don’t forget to take the garage door opener w you if you leave And definitely don’t forget to return it! Also you can use our Weber Weber charcoal grill and we keep plenty of lighter fluid on site just can’t guarantee the amount of charcoal available but alas the grocery store called Piggly Wiggly is just 4 miles away giving you the comfort of knowing that food and extra items are nearby. The Gipson House was established in 1930 by the family of Mrs Gertrude Gipson. Mrs Gertrude and her family owned and operated a small grocery store in the pelham/Mtn View community for many years. This store is now Patti’s Patch floral shop. Her beautiful craftsman style home beside the store is now the Gipson House Airbnb. The house is fully restored and close to area attractions including the Caverns music venue, the Unversity of the South, and world class hiking in the South Cumberland and Savage Gulf natural areas, Tim’s Ford Lake and the Mountain Goat Trail are also popular destinations.
